ShareDean Hedstrom Award
Dean was a 30 year member of the North Florida PGA Section. Shortly after Dean lost his battle with melanoma, the president of Dean's PGA section, John Falcone, was driving in the car when he heard the hosts of a local sports radio show announce Dean's death. At that moment John decided that the PGA section would implement a Dean Hedstrom Award to be given out at the annual section awards ceremony.
The Dean Hedstrom Award is presented annually to a player sharing Dean's respect for the traditions of the game, his commitment to uphold the game's heritage of charitable support and his professional and meticulous presentation of himself and the sport through his dress and conduct.
The Dean Hedstrom Award is modeled after the PGA Tour's Payne Stewart Award.
