ShareRyan Hedstrom
Ryan Hedstrom was born in Brisbane, Australia in September of 1988.
After he graduated high school in 2007, Ryan was accepted into the University of South Florida. Now a senior at USF in the College of Business as well as the Honors College, he is currently studying Marketing, and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2012.
Dean legally adopted Ryan in 1997, and they developed an immediate father and son bond. In the short amount of time that Dean had to teach Ryan all of the lesson's that a father wants to teach his son, he did a wonderful job. Ryan is the amazing young man that he is today due in great part to having Dean as his father. Ryan loved his Dad dearly, looked up to him always and misses him every day.
Since Ryan was 15 years old, he has loved the sport of wakeboarding, and has traveled all over the world pursuing his dream of a professional career. in the sport.
At USF, he is the Marketing Director for the Wakeboarding Club, an Organization with over 800 members. Since wakeboarding, as well as golf, is a sport reliant on sunny days and nice weather, Ryan has used this experience to spread the word about Melanoma, and prevention within the world of water sports. Ryan hopes that this can be one of many ways to contribute to the foundation, now and into the future. One way that Ryan is hoping to get the message out is by writing articles such as this to hopefully be published in water sports periodicals.
Ryan's hobbies is writing an recording music. Universal Struggle is a song that Ryan wrote to express his thoughts and feelings about his Dad's journey with melanoma.
