Community Education

Throughout the year we offer community outreach educational programs in the form of child-friendly and age appropriate education presentations to local schools, community organizations and athletic associations. As an example, in 2010, together with Surgical Associates of West Florida, our foundation participated in the 2010 Great American Teach-In at Safety Harbor Middle School. Dr. Michael Krutchik of Bay Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, P.A. also participate every year in the Great American Teach-In educating middle and elementary school about skin cancer and melanoma and how to protect themselves. We also donated hundreds of our UV Bands which are a big hit with the kids.

The Great American Teach-In is an opportunity for parents, volunteers and local businesses to talk about their jobs and hobbies at schools across the local area. Presenters often do demostrations or bring equipment they use at work when they speak to students.
