Wear Your Awareness™ Kits

In 2011, the Dean Hedstrom Foundation for Melanoma Awareness Board of Directors decided to introduce Wear Your Awareness™ kits as an enrichment to its community outreach educational program. These kits will be distributed at various events and educational opportunities, and will include, yet not limited to, a draw string backpack, UV shirt, UV hat, UV detector bracelets, sunscreen and specially designed age appropriate information materials and activity book.

The Wear Your Awareness™ kits will be free to children with the hope they will be a continuous reminder of the long term effects of unprotected exposure to the sun and teach children how to better protect themselves today for a healthier tomorrow. The kits will also help them take the message home to their families.
